What is Advent? Advent comes from a Latin word meaning “coming” or “arrival.” Just as you would prepare your home to receive a guest, we prepare ourselves to celebrate the coming of the Lord.
The Season of Advent has always been one of hope and expectation. From the first Sunday of Advent to Christmas Eve, we await the celebration of Jesus’ birth. But this season of anticipation doesn’t end on Christmas Day.
As followers of Christ, we are a people living between two Advents: the coming of Jesus as a baby in Bethlehem and His future triumphant return as King of Kings.
